Kylie and Brodie’s European Inspired Bali Wedding at El Kabron

Kylie & Brodie’s dreamy European-inspired Bali wedding at El Kabron is brimming with styling inspiration for all future Bali brides! These two decided to plan a destination wedding in one of their favourite places, bringing together over 100 of their closest friends and family from all over the world.

Before the world was struck by the pandemic, Kylie and Brodie embarked on exciting adventures to various destinations. As they eagerly waited for travel restrictions to ease, Kylie had a hunch that something extraordinary was about to happen.

Her intuition proved correct, although the surprise didn’t unfold exactly as she had imagined. The evening prior to the proposal, they enjoyed a romantic dinner under the starry sky in the remote outback of Australia. Kylie anticipated that this would be the moment when Brodie would propose. However, she brushed it off, assuming that he simply wanted to wait until they could freely travel again.

To her astonishment, the following afternoon after lunch, they ventured up to a scenic lookout at the lodge. There, Brodie suddenly dropped down on one knee while sipping wine and indulging in a delectable cheeseboard.

Their Bali Wedding took place at the stunning El Kabron in Uluwatu, Kylie & Brodie recruited a dream team of local suppliers to bring their luxe vision to life, including the talented Bali wedding planners from Hitch’d who went above and beyond to create a magical, whimsical setting.

From the flower-filled ceremony styled with oversized arrangements to the eclectic table seating plan with nooks, lounge chairs, casper see-through chairs and sparkling fairy lights, Kylie and Brodie wanted to surprise and delight their guests with beautiful details – and we think they totally nailed it.

The floral styling by Sandat Floral was nothing short of exceptional throughout the ceremony, bouquets and table decorations and you’ll be able to see why below. Kylie and her bride tribe looked absolutely stunning all thanks to the hair and makeup team from Trove Artistry, which was actually their first booked vendor after securing the venue.

Every detail was meticulously curated, from the location to the furniture and floral installations to the stunning table reception and entertainment. The day was filled with so much joy, love, and laughter, creating an unforgettable celebration to remember forever.

Their guests bought the vibe (which always comes as a reflection of the bride and groom) and from the moment the ceremony was finished it was time to celebrate the ultimate couple. The bridal party nailed the entrance with each couple dancing their way into the reception trying to out-do the last and the vibe continued for the entire night with live tunes from Lydia Rose and her band and Sammy Sax, as the fireworks went off over the Indian Ocean.

About Us…

How we met: Brothers mate lol

The proposal: Pre-covid we had been to some pretty amazing places together, so I knew Brodie wanted to do something really special. Due to not being able to travel overseas for years, I figured he would just wait until the borders reopened.

We took a trip in 2021 for my birthday to Longitude 131, a spectacular lodge in Uluru, NT.

The night before the proposal, we had a romantic dinner under the stars in the outback, a perfect proposal setting. After nothing happened that night, I was convinced he was waiting until we could travel overseas again.

However the next afternoon after lunch, we headed up to a lookout at the lodge for some wine and a cheeseboard, and next minute he was down on one knee.

It was perfect and took me completely by surprise.

Our style/Inspiration: We originally looked at getting married in Europe, but decided it was too much to ask of our friends and family. So our inspiration when we were searching for Bali venues, was to find something that gave that European summer vibe. El Kabron was the obvious choice. It is just the most captivating venue and really gives you that WOW factor as soon as you walk in.

Our styling I would describe as Modern/Romantic/Coastal. We opted for a neutral colour palette with hints of blush pink and earthy tones for more depth. We also requested that our guests dress in those tones and it just turned out so beautifully.

Who we couldn’t have done it without (Bali Supplier):

Honestly, I was completely obsessed with all of our Bali suppliers. Brodie just went with the flow, as most grooms tend to do haha. I really did a lot of research in the year leading up, and I knew exactly what I wanted. Every single person delivered on the day and it was just so epic to see my vision come to life, even more wonderfully than I imagined.

Advice for future Bali Brides:

Lock in suppliers early.
Try to organise a group rate for accommodation so everyone / a lot of guests are staying in the same place. This was a godsend for us.

We chose The Radisson Blu Uluwatu, due to its close proximity to the venue, and I honestly just could not recommend them more highly.

It was so nice just being able to come down to breakfast or to the pool in the days leading up to the wedding and just hang out with people. It was also a great chance for people to meet each other before the big day.

Our Wedding Day…

Wedding Planner/Stylist: Hitch’d Bali. I chose Kira and her team because I really resonated with her styling. To me, it really stood out from all of the others and after speaking with her and showing her my ideas, I knew she was the right fit for us.

Décor/Furniture: El Kabron & The Isle Co

Flowers/Florist: Sandat Floral. Made’s style and attention to detail are second to none. We were blown away by what he created and so were all of our guests.

Hair & Make-up: Trove Artistry. I think this was actually the first supplier I booked in after the venue. There was never a question of who would be doing our hair and makeup. Lexie’s reputation precedes her, for good reason. Her team did the most epic job on the day of EIGHT hair and make-ups + a flower girl. Could not have been more happy with them.

Photography:

Motion House Weddings. Photography / videography were actually one of the toughest suppliers for us to choose. We searched through so many suppliers and style wise, nothing was resonating with our vision.

Our wedding planner suggested Jaran and his team, but as it was only just post-covid, and he is from Aus, we weren’t sure if he was planning on operating in Bali again.

Thankfully he was, and after a meeting at home, on the Gold Coast, I knew immediately he was the man for us. His creativity and modern style of photography really stood out among the crowd and on the day, he was amazing.

Photo / Video is the one part of your day that lasts forever, and we feel incredibly lucky that Jaran and his team captured ours so perfectly for us.

Cake/Dessert: Butter Bali. Our cake was delicious and looked absolutely superb. I actually don’t think there was one piece left!

Stationery/Invitations: Canva / Burleigh Print & Design.

Being a destination wedding, I always had the idea of a passport style invitation. I drew inspiration from one I had seen on YouTube and started my Canva design almost from scratch.

Burleigh Print & Design really assisted me with specs and sizing before printing and they turned out so beautifully.

Entertainment: Being a performer myself, entertainment was a very high priority. We were so, so impressed not only by how talented our musicians were, but how they genuinely interacted with our guests.

We wanted the mood to change as the day progressed into night and our team of entertainers made this happen. We had an acoustic soloist on arrival, for the ceremony and for a dinner set, a DJ/sax player for a sunset session and he was joined by a vocalist and percussionist for some party sets after dinner.

Creating these layers of entertainment kept our guests guessing and made the day exciting.

Honeymoon Details:

We just returned from a six week African honeymoon. It was truly wonderful and a once in a lifetime experience.

We started in South Africa, experienced our first ever safari, indulged in wonderful food and wine before heading to Namibia for an 11 day self drive.

From there we went to Uganda for some more safari and gorilla trekking, Tanzania for a few boujee nights at The Four Seasons, Serengeti and finished the trip in Nairobi, Kenya.

All places neither of us had ever been, making it even more special.

Where did you find your styling inspiration for your Bali wedding?

The Bali Bride!!! (Of course!) Like most brides these days Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok. It’s amazing how much wedding content is on there, especially TikTok.

What was the hardest part about planning a destination wedding?

Probably communication and letting go of control.

I really struggled with this, especially in the last few weeks leading up.

I wanted everything to be perfect for our guests and there were a few setbacks in the late stages that essentially were a result of communication breakdown. Most of the setbacks were overcome, and the others were just smaller details I had to let go of.
